Senior BFA/Thesis Show

The air you breathe, the rain you feel and the water you drink is all made possible because of the ocean. If the ocean gets depleted where does that leave you? In the next 100 years there will be huge impacts on you due to the ocean being neglected. Can this be changed?

After taking an ocean human interaction class at the University of Idaho, the ocean became a prominent thought for me and I have spent my time in senior studio focusing on making a positive change.

I have worked with Moscow Parks and Recreation and has been involved in the community. After seeing the impacts that one community can have, my project started taking form. The ocean community planning kit is what came from these experiences.

The kit includes resources, information and action plans resources for a community planning committee to start incorporating programs and projects that can start reducing a community’s negative impact on the ocean. Every community is different but they all have one thing in common: the ocean impacts them every day. The kit allows communities to have the basic information but leaves room to personalize their strategies to best fit their community for a maximum positive outcome.
